Swimming Laps

It's time

The best time to plant a tree was yesterday, the second best time is today

Whether you can already swim and would like to brush up on your techniques for a goal you've set or if you are complete beginner these lessons are for you.

Beginners

It is never too late to learn. People come to us with a huge variety of reasons for wanting to learn to swim later in life. Some of our recent favourites have been:

Off to the Galapagos and wanted to snorkel

Off to Mexico and wanted to swim in the sea and in cenotes

Wants to be able to enjoy the water with the grandkids

Injured and have been recommended water based exercise to help recover

Just wanted to be able to confidently wash hair in the shower without worrying about getting water over their face

We take things at your pace. Almost every older swimmer we have worked with has at some point had a negative experience around water. It is important for us to build trust with you and to make it clear that although we will encourage you to hit your maximum potential we will never make you do anything you feel you are not ready for, and you have the right to say no to anything at any time.

Some swimmers will be in and swimming basic strokes within 2 or 3 lessons, and others will take weeks to build up the confidence to set foot in the water. We will be there with you every step of the way supporting your journey and celebrating your successes.

More Experienced

Looking to refine techniques? Have an event in mind?

Our instructors not only swim teachers but are also qualified to coach open water swimming, so whether you are looking for pool lessons or open water coaching you have come to the right place.

We have worked with a range of athletes training for a variety of events, form their first pool based swims to full open water ironman competitions. We will work with you to refine your technique to become as efficient as possible in the water, along with if relevant to your goals learning skills such as turns, sighting, drafting and starts.

Badges

There are 3 alpha steps awards available to earn, followed by 4 awards for swimming ability. You can also earn distance badges to mark your progress with your swimming journey.

Lesson Structure

Varying durations available to suit your needs

Adult lessons are often structured differently, as many adults will prefer to work on skills for longer than children due to increased fitness, longer concentration and more defined goals.

We often recommend booking either 45 of 60 minute lessons, particularly if you are a more nervous swimmer who is looking to overcome past fears as it will give you more time to settle in and become more calm in the environment.

We can often run adult lessons during the day or later in the evenings, so we recommend dropping us an email to chat about your desired goals before booking a lesson
